Review: Georgia Rule
A sample of the film's dialogue:
"You can touch it if you'd like."
Said by Lindsay Lohan to a polite Mormon boy she's trying to seduce, after sliding off her panties while sitting with him in a boat in the middle of an Idaho lake. ... Yeah. Don't even get me started on her see-through wife-beater with no bra, which was seriously the most exploitative thing I've seen on screen all year. Garry Marshall, what the hell is wrong with you?
Anyway: Clickety-click.

I have tried not to take the flippant and ignorant remarks about Georgia Rule personally, as I was sexually abused. All seem to annoyed by Rachel's rebellion, promiscuity, and indecision. Did it ever occur to anyone that this what a sexual abuse victim looks like? Apparently not. This movie, Georgia Rule, is realistic. It is about real life. I am so happy, however, to know that there are people out there who have nothing more to worry about than making judgements and even jokes about something they know nothing about.
I would touch it just to say that I had touched it.
I would then soak my fingertip in boric acid for 72 hours while praying to every god that has ever been worshipped on this planet to forgive me.
And then I would issue forth with manaical laughter because, having chopped off the offending digit with a butter knife, I would be convulsing in pain but free from the horrible hateful shame of self-indulgence.
No... I'd still have to kill myself.
